Croydon Ref: FTO/001 First Tram Operations is part of FirstGroup Plc, which is the UK's largest transport organisation and is the operators of the Croydon Tramlink System. Tramlink is a 28km light rail system with 24 trams on three lines providing a fast, frequent and reliable connection to and through a number of areas in south London, including Croydon, Wimbledon, New Addington and Beckenham. We currently have vacancies for drivers to operate trams from the Tramlink depot in Croydon. As a Tram Driver you would be trained in all aspects of vehicle operations and would be responsible for delivering a safe, friendly and reliable service for our customers. We are looking for people with a professional approach who would take pride in providing a premium transport service. Flexibility and reliability are essential attributes for a role which is both demanding and, at time, wide ranging in nature. You must have good communication and customer care skills as well as the ability to maintain concentration and focus over a long period of time. Our drivers come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of skills and experience. However, an ability to perform to the highest of standards in pressure situations is essential. You must have a full clean manual car driving licence and be able to work on a shift basis covering 24 hours, 7 days a week. As part of the recruitment process all successful candidates will be subject to a Criminal Records Check (CRB) before commencing employment.
