Expect many different challenges as you put the customer first, growing through training that develops your confidence as a person and your long term security as an employee. We're all about safety, integrity, quality, accessibility and professionalism. Are you? For many passengers you'll be the face of First ScotRail that they remember. So creating a first-class impression, and making them feel safe, secure and welcome, should come as second nature to you. You need an eye for detail when checking and issuing tickets, an organised mind when handling cash and processing card transactions and a level head when patrolling the train and dealing with overcrowding, travel, customer issues and other situations that might unexpectedly arise. We can't stress enough how important it is that you are a numerate and literate "people person" who can manage all kinds of situations constructively. This role is about delivering quality customer service and thinking clearly on your feet. Act with integrity, at all times to provide helpful solutions to passengers and staff. The roster covers a six day period with rotating rest day. The post involves working shifts Monday to Saturday which involves early starts and late finishes. You may also be asked to work overtime and weekends. The post is 35 hours per week. The earliest start will be approx 0530 and the latest finish will be approx 0100. Your four week training - which includes induction, customer service, commercial skills, first aid, fire safety, disability awareness and conflict management - will be professionally delivered to give you all the tools to need to master this surprisingly varied and interesting job. Reference Salary after training is £19,566pa. While training it's the equivalent of £13,416pa. Contributory final salary pension scheme, is available and a further benefit is free and reduced rate rail travel for you and your family, where applicable. Selection process: Selected candidates will be short-listed and invited to complete on-line assessments. If successful the next stage would be an interview with a local manager. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical examination and drugs/alcohol screening. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six month probation period. First ScotRail is an equal opportunities employer. | |
